Bent the pipe

Maroon (covered with yellow spots)

Sangjack Promtong (naiat) offered this pipe on eBay. I had never seen anything quite like it, so I bought it. When I got the pipe, the first thing I noticed is that the yellow spots seemed to have been added by someone after the pipe was sold. The spots are very obviously raised, giving the pipe a rough texture. However, I have been burned leaping to conclusions before, so I am reserving judgement until more examples are found. Unfortunately, the seller had no idea what the origin of the pipe is beyond his acquiring it at a flea market or swap meet or church sale. So it will stay in the collection until it is decided whether it belongs or not. The pipe is unsmoked making it even odder that it would be treated like this. H-m-m. Pipe Photo
