What a pleasant surprise! This pipe arrived unannounced and unsolicited in the mail. It seems someone I met at the 2000 Chicago Pipe Show told Lee Pattison about my interest in these quirky pipes and Lee, having one in his collection, sent it to me asking only that I reciprocate the gift with some English blend tobacco. I was happy to send him some of Cornell & Diehl's Blend 114 which Craig Tarler (master blender for C&D) and I developed as a mild, easy burning, decent smelling specialty tobacco for these pyrolytic graphite lined pipes.
