I visited the 2000 Chicago Pipe Show last week-end and ran into George Burns, who is dealer in estate pipes among other things. He is kind enough to save the Venturi, Inc. pipes he finds to give me first refusal on them. He had several THE SMOKE to show me and this the pipe. THE SMOKEs were not especially attractive to me since my collection of that marque is complete with all new-in-the-box pipes. But I had no burnt orange bent the pipe, so I was glad to buy this one from him even though the mouthpiece is a bit discolored.
