Chicagoland Pipe and Cigar Club held its annual Show April 23-25, 1999 and I was delighted to attend. One of the dealers there, John Eells, had a few pyrolytic graphite pipes. I bought three of them. Then my friend, Bill Unger, asked Colonel. L. Edward Lawrence, to send a copy of his very fine The Cavalier Pipe Club's Calabash Papers to me. In the issue was Ed's memories of the pipe and it's driving force, Wes Myers. I wrote Ed, he called me, and one thing led to another until he bought this pipe
