I met Mick Ratliff at a North American Society of Pipe Collectors (NASPC) swap meeting I attended in Columbus. He sold me six the pipes at a very resonable price. A great haul! This pipe has an outer shell of real briar. They put a pyrolytic graphite bowl liner in a briar pipe because there would be no break-in required. This pipe is unusual in another respect; it is stamped on the shank opposite the pipe, 186, BRIAR, MADE IN ENGLAND.
